Selection Process for NIC Scientific Officer Exam 2023
- The selection process for the NIC Scientific Officer / Engineer – SB Recruitment 2023 will be carried out in two stages. The first stage is the written examination, conducted in ONLINE mode. The question paper will consist of 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), and candidates will have a maximum of three hours to answer them. The medium of the written examination will be English only. The question paper will consist of 65% questions from Technical Area and 35% from the Generic Area. A detailed syllabus is attached as Annexure A.
- Shortlisting candidates for the interview process will be based on merit position and reservation policy. Only the candidates who have qualified in the written examination will be called for the interview. The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment will be based on the combined performance of the candidates in the written examination and the interview. The weightage of marks for the written examination and the interview will be in the ratio of 85:15.
- It is important to note that it is mandatory to appear for the interview to be considered for selection. A panel of experts will conduct the interview, and candidates will be evaluated based on their knowledge, skills, and aptitude.
